By Dr Dominic Walliman and Ben Newman

“Oh, hello there, friends! Did you know that physics is a very important part of our everyday lives?”
If you’ve not come across the Professor Astro Cat books before, you’re in for a treat! They’re fab for little science fans, introducing them to all kinds of scientific concepts and terminology they wouldn’t usually come across in everyday life. And if your kiddo isn’t already a science nerd, then Professor Astro Cat’s Atomic Adventure might be the one that starts them down a whole new path! It’s so fun!!!

Mr 6 is really into all things science (seriously, I’m raising the next Tony Stark over here!) and he loves this book so much! I’m fairly certain I’d never heard of quantum physics at the age of six, but his favourite section is about just that! The book covers everything from gravity and forces, through the periodic table and atoms, to particle physics and the multiverse – all in kid friendly language, with gorgeous, retro-style illustrations! (I absolutely love the graphics in the Professor Astro Cat books! They’re just too cute!) The pages have an infographic vibe, with the text split into easy-to-digest chunks, just right for little people with short attention spans who are learning mind blowing things!

This book is seriously educational, and has some amazing sticking power – we’ve had it for about a year, and its still much loved! I’m super impressed that my 6 year old now has an understanding of the scientific method, and the subatomic world! Professor Astro Cat’s Atomic Adventure is so fab, you might even find things in there that you don’t know as an adult, presuming of course, you’re not a theoretical physicist! Mr 6 asks about us getting more Professor Astro Cat books all the time, which I think is a pretty good endorsement!
The only problem with this book is that your kid will suddenly want to talk about the possibility of a multiverse as a bedtime stalling tactic!!!
