101 STICKERS BOOKS – REVIEW

Illustrated by Sophie Beer

We’re all about making learning as fun as we can around here, so we were just thrilled to discover the “101 Stickers!” range that have come from a collaboration between Nosy Crow and The British Museum! They’re the fab sticker books your kids love, but with a historical, educational twist!

As you can see, there are books covering Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece and the Stone Age (so far!), with each book showing scenes from that era, that can be added to by your child! Each double page spread has an informative paragraph or two about the scene, and then a couple of suggestions for placing the first few stickers – then it’s on your child to find space for the rest! (There’s plenty of stickers too. It’s quite the job to fit them all on!)

Illustrated by Sophie Beer, the pictures and stickers are just adorable, with dozens of little people going about their lives and doing all sorts of interesting things! The books are super quality too. (The books are bound with thread, so there’s none of that glue failure/pages coming loose that you can get with some sticker books!) And the last page of each book shows a museum exhibit where you can stick pictures of artefacts that have been shown earlier on – a fab way to bring all that history right up to the present day!

The 101 Stickers books are just fab, and give kids a little bit of ownership and active participation to history! And they’re brilliant for keeping history “hands on” in the rainy months, when there aren’t a lot of trips or days out to historical sites or ruins going on! They’re probably best for ages 5 to 10 – younger kids will learn all sorts of interesting facts, whereas they’re a fun and easy way to review knowledge for older ones! The books are much loved in our house, and have been well and truly “stickered”!!! We really hope Nosy Crow bring out more 101 Stickers books covering other eras – we’ll definitely be first in the queue for them! We love them!!!
