KORXX – REVIEW

Korxx Blocks

If you’ve been around these parts for a while now, you’ll know how much we love open ended toys here! So we were thrilled when we came across Korxx – they’re building blocks, but not like you know them! Made from granulated natural cork, (and dyed with a pretty rainbow of specially developed pigments), they manage to be lightweight, yet solid and durable, and they’re super fun to play with!

The surface of the cork has a little bit of grip, which is really helpful for stopping blocks slipping, and towers from tumbling over! I wish we’d had these when our kids were toddlers!!! Plus, they’re great if you have an older kiddo with a low tolerance for frustration. They stack beautifully, and you can create fantastically tall structures without having to be too precise. Our kids went straight to building a form of ball run with them – but using one of the circular blocks like a wheel! (A wheel run? Have we just invented a new thing?!) That little bit of grip I mentioned is fab for getting the slanted pieces to stay put – and at the right angle too!

Being made of natural materials the Korxx blocks pair perfectly with wooden toys – they’re definitely strong and sturdy enough to have a stack of wooden blocks or rainbow arches on top of them! And that means you can build even taller and crazier towers! Also, being made from cork means they don’t make the loud clatter that wooden blocks do when they fall – helpful if you’ve got a kiddo who doesn’t like loud noises.

A whole rainbow of Korxx!

Korxx have some serious eco-credentials – did you know that cork oaks sequester more CO2 than other trees, and that cork oak habitats are some of the biologically richest in the world? Me neither!!! On top of that, the cork is harvested without chopping down the trees, so they’re super sustainable too! That’s a win for the environment, as well as a win for your kids! You’ll definitely want some if an eco-friendly playroom is on your agenda!

We have the Quad C, Round C and Square C sets, and each one has a full rainbow of 10 blocks in it. (They also come in natural cork colouring too, if your playspace has a more neutral vibe.) Our kids are already wanting to grow their collection, and have got their eye on the spheres set – because who doesn’t want balls that you can build a tower with?!?! We’ll definitely be adding to our Korxx stash at some point – they’re just fab, and are quickly turning into a play time essential here! We highly recommend them!

Korxx can be found at their website here.

Korxx kindly sent us our sets for the purposes of this review! Thank you so much Korxx – we love them!!!

So many pretty colours!
