We’ve written before how fantastic the pool is at Haven’s Hafan y Môr (it’s awesome – see all the pics here!), but we thought we’d also share how fab the rest of the site is too!
To say the Hafan y Môr site is huge is an understatement! The site is actually so huge, that it’s split into two halves by a train track – the northern half has the pool, entertainment area and some restaurants, while the southern half has the playground, activities, beach access and more restaurants – so if you’ve got teeny ones, a pushchair for getting around is a must, as you have to cross the bridge from one half to the other!
There’s so many facilities available on site, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Away from the fab pool, there’s a boating lake with dragon pedaloes, a high ropes course (plus a mini high ropes for tots!), bungee trampolines, mini golf, segways, a climbing wall – and as you’d expect with a Haven site, the usual Surrey bikes and a huge playground! Plus it’s a seafront site, so there was beach access right from the park. (The access is a bit tucked away, but it’s there!) There’s also a huge selection of restaurants and eateries – Coast Bar and Grill, Burger King, Papa John’s pizza, Slim Chickens, Millie’s cookies, the Cakery, and of course good old seaside fish and chips.
Our caravan was nicely furnished (and fairly new!), with all the amenities you’d expect – plus a lovely fireplace! We booked a bronze level, three bedroom caravan, as there’s 5 of us, and it was lovely and spacious. And despite the fact that it’s a huge, huge park, there was lots of green space between the caravans and it didn’t feel packed-in at all, unlike some caravan parks we’ve been to. Plus, the kids were enamoured with the hundreds of bunnies hopping about the place!
We’ll definitely be returning to Hafan y Môr! There was so much to do in the area, we barely scratched the surface, and the fabulous on-site waterpark sealed the deal for us!
