If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll know we love our Stapelstein – they’re just fab for keeping active kids entertained indoors! (See our previous review of the classic set here!) So we were super excited when Stapelstein announced they had a brand new product on the market – Stapelstein Inside!
Stapelstein Inside are the Russian dolls of the Stapelstein world – a set comprises of two large, two medium and two small Stapelsteins, and the different sizes cleverly nest inside each other. And half a set even nests inside a single “classic” Stapelstein, which extends the set further! The wavy edge means they interlock nicely into a neat ball for storage purposes – just don’t try and throw it, as it’ll fall apart instantly! The differing sizes mean they lend themselves to stacking, nesting, and open ended play beautifully, but they’re also good for being stepping stones too – though you’ll need tiny feet for the smallest size!
They’re the same super strong, yet super lightweight, 100% recyclable plastic that you’re used to in the classic sets. (Think really solid, un-dentable polystyrene, if you’ve not held one before – but that description doesn’t really do them justice!) If you build a tower with them, it’s not going to make a huge clatter as it falls down – fantastic for kids who don’t like loud noises – nor will they damage your flooring! And being so lightweight they float, so they’re brilliant for water play and adding to paddling pools for extra splashy fun! And, of course, they come in the same gorgeous rainbows of colour you’d expect from Stapelstein – there’s both bright and pastel sets.
We thought Stapelstein Inside were really fun to play with – the added depth of play from the different sizes really helped inspire creativity! They can be used in so many different ways – I don’t think we’ve even come close to discovering the full extent of fun to be had with them, particularly in the water!!! (Damn you, awful British summer!) Their eco-credentials are strong, which is a huge bonus, and they’re just fab if you’ve got active, imaginative kids. I’m sure we’ll be using our Stapelstein Inside for a long time to come! If your playroom is all about open ended play, you need definitely need some Stapelstein!!!
