We’ve been to the Haven site at Burnham on Sea a number of times over the years – it’s a lovely place, and there’s so much to do in the area that we keep going back! We recently took a trip there and thought we’d share all about it, as it’s such a great place for families!
Our caravan was fantastic – probably the best one we’ve ever stayed in! (Though we seem to say that on every trip – they just keep getting better and better!) It was the first time we’d had one with a galley kitchen running alongside the bedrooms, and it worked really well for our family of 5. We’d booked a 3 bedroom, bronze level caravan, but I’m fairly sure we got one better than that, as the main bedroom had an en-suite, and there was a small private deck outside the living area, neither of which we were expecting!
Of course, the most important thing – as far as our kids are concerned – is the pool! It’s a fairly small one, but it has enough fun features to make it seem bigger and keep the kids well entertained. The big hit was the fab flume-style water slide, which barely had a queue the entire time we were there. (Hooray for off-peak travel!) There were a couple of big splash features for older kids, and a small toddler splash area that was fenced off from the main pool for safety. Add a beach style, zero entry sloped entrance to the pool, which is always lovely, and some seating for parents/grandparents who just want to watch, and there you have it!
There was also a small outdoor pool, though it was far too chilly to be open when we were there! (I imagine it’s lovely in the height of summer though.) The restaurant was fab, complete with views of the pool, and there were plenty of convenient takeaway options too – fish and chips, Burger King, and Papa John’s Pizza could all be found in the main entertainment area near the arcades. And as with all Haven sites, there were a couple of great playgrounds for helping to burn off the kids’ excess energy!
As I said, we’ve been to Haven’s Burnham on Sea site before, and I have no doubt we’ll go again – it’s a fab place, brilliant for kids, and much loved by our family!
