We’ve had a few people ask us which is better – original Stapelstein or Stapelstein Inside? Which should they get? Those are some tough questions – because both sets are absolutely fantastic!!! So we thought we’d try and break it down for you all, if you’re making that decision…..

The original Stapelstein are our first love – they’re great for burning energy with active kids! (The floor is lava all day, every day!!!) And the bundle set is worth it for the wobble board alone! Our confetti wobble board gets so much use every single day! The set stacks neatly, with the wobble board as a base, helping to keep them tidy. And of course you can flip that stack over to make a fab wobbly seat – brilliant for sensory seeking kids! Our full review of the original Stapelstein can be found here.

The newer Stapelstein Inside set are just fab – the range of sizes are really versatile for open ended play, and they’re still sturdy enough to be used as stepping stones, if that’s what your kids are into. (Though there’s not much foot room on the smallest size!) And as they nest, they can be stored as a neat ball, which fits easily on most toy shelves. There’s loads of scope for pretend play – and though we haven’t tried it yet, we’ve heard fab things about using them in water play too as they float! Our full review of Stapelstein Inside can be found here.

We think that if you’ve got super active, or bigger/older kids, you’ll probably get more use out of the original set. Whereas if you’re short on space, or have kids that are really into make believe, the Stapelstein Inside set would likely be better for you. Though, of course, if you’re feeling spendy – get both!!! They’re both absolutely brilliant, and the Stapelstein Inside sets nest inside an original Stapelstein, which is super fun, and adds a further dimension to playing with them!
The original Stapelstein rainbow bundle with confetti wobble board can be purchased direct from Stapelstein in both classic rainbow and pastel rainbow sets, as can the Stapelstein Inside, in both bright and pastel sets.
