As you all know, we have super active kids who are into any sort of toy that lets them move their bodies. Enter Stapelstein!!! These brightly coloured, rainbow pods are super cute, and super versatile! Part giant building block, part….. I’m not even sure what!!! They’re one of those fab open-ended toys that lets your imagination run wild! They’re brilliant for encouraging your kids to move while they play, and invent their own games. (In fact, Stapelstein’s social media hashtag is #moveplaycreate!)
Our kids’ favourite use for them so far is as stepping stones – the Stapelstein cleverly stack, so you can vary the height you’re stepping to. (And it means they stack up neatly when you’re tidying!) The circular wobble board cleverly stacks too, meaning you can vary your height of wobbling! Use it on its own for a toddler, so they can be close to the floor, or add pods to it for older kids. Ours have managed to stand on it with one or two pods underneath – if you add more than that it becomes a wobbly seat to sit on! But of course, there’s so much more to Stapelstein than stepping stones and wobbling – use the individual pods without the wobble board, and you’ve got beds for teddies and dolls, bowls for pretend cooking, or hills for little people to climb!
The Stapelstein are the weight of polystyrene, but much, much stronger and durable – your kids will be able to cart them about and stack them easily, but there won’t be any dents to the floor or furniture when they inevitably get dropped. (Their website says they’re so strong they’ve got a max user weight of 180kg, so that means adults can get in on the fun too!) Their eco-credentials are pretty good too – they’re produced climate neutrally, and are 100% recyclable, meaning they could be a brilliant addition for Waldorf families!
